OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra “PyeongChang 2018” Limited Edition
In exactly two years from today, on February 9, 2018, everyone’s attention will turn to the South Korean ski resort of PyeongChang for the opening ceremony of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games. As the official timekeeper of Olympic Games, OMEGA has unveiled today the limited edition Seamaster Aqua Terra “PyeongChang 2018”, basically, an Aqua Terra 150M customized for this special event.
The first noticeable difference is the event name printed in the five colours from the Olympic Rings, on the minute track of the blue dial. It is an interesting coincidence how the year 2018 offered Omega designers a unique opportunity to align the 20 and the 18 with the exact minute indexes. This can’t be repeated in our lifetime.
On the side of the 41 mm stainless steel case, the limited edition number has been engraved. There will be only 2018 piece made of this edition.
A further recognizable feature of the Seamaster PyeongChang is found on the back of the watch. The sapphire crystal of the caseback is decorated with the official “Olympic Games PyeongChang 2018” logo. Underneath we can admire the carefully decorated Master Co-Axial 8500.
Presented in a white Olympic themed box, the Seamaster Aqua Terra “PyeongChang 2018” is the next target for collectors of Olympic themed watches.
We were told that in the next few weeks, the Aqua Terra PyeongChang will be available at the Vancouver OMEGA Boutique, and it will retail for $7150 CAD.
