Iridium Torpedo 300 Giveaway
For me, this is a very special post for a couple of reasons. First of all, after a very long period, I’m breaking my silence here on WatchPaper. After months of being away from blogging due to a huge move of our home and (WatchPaper HQ), we are now settled in a new place and I can finally sit down and write again about watches. Before going any further, I’d like to thank TimeCaptain, who kept the fire burning during this time by posting here on a regular basis.
The second reason is the person behind the brand that I’m going to introduce today — Niranjan Parulekar, a friend of mine who helps me with administering the Microbrand Watches Facebook group. I actually got to know Niranjan thanks to this group, he was one of the early members, very active and with a genuine passion for micros. If you are a long-time member of our group, you probably remember Niranjan’s posts about his experiments with dial making (with crazy amounts of lume) or his unique watches that he would put together from parts bought online.
About a year ago, this passion project matured into something more serious, a new microbrand — Iridium Watches. The brand has a strong connection to our Facebook group, it is here that Niranjan got to know Akshay Solomon and after they met in person in Bangalore, they’ve decided to take their passion to the next level. Iridium is only part of the story, they are also working on a high-end brand, Audric, which will be 100% Swiss Made. They are in the process of registering a parent company for these two brands that will be based in Neuchatel, Switzerland. But, let’s not get ahead of things, as Akshay wrote to me, their motto comes from Napoleon Hill, “if you can’t do great things, do small things in a great way”, so let’s focus on Iridium and its first collection called Torpedo 300.
