As an addition to the iconic Alpina « Startimer Pilot » professional pilot collection the all black Startimer Pilot “Black Star”, with its 44 mm black PVD coated stainless steel case, “sunray“ dial finishing, applied numerals and applied minutes ring, maintains all the professional pilot features the Alpina Startimer Collection is known for, while adding the luxury finishes normally found on elegant watches. The combination of the “stealth” black case colour and the luxury dial finishes results in a perfect combination of strict pilot functionalities and an elegant, yet expert design.

Alpina AL-860 Caliber

Inside the Startimer “Black Star“ we’ll find the Alpina AL-860 Automatic Chronograph movement, the same as we saw in the StarTimer Pilot “Sunray”. It has a “Bi-Compax” 60 seconds and 30 minutes small counter layout, which is ideal for time readability, a must for professional pilot watches.

The 30 jewels Alpina AL-860 is beating at 28,800 vph, offering a very useful 46 hours of power reserve.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
