Pre-SIHH 2015 – A quick overview of two Baume & Mercier novelties
With SIHH debuting in a few days, here are three new models that Baume & Mercier is planning to present: the Clifton Big Date and Power Reserve 10205, inspired by a model from the 50’s and the rectangular Hampton Automatic 10155 and 10156.
Clifton Big Date and Power Reserve 10205
With this latest addition to the Clifton line, Baume & Mercier has returned to its museum collection to find inspiration. The 43 mm polished and satin-finished stainless steel case is covered with a domed sapphire crystal. The sun satin-finished silver-coloured dial is dominated by the big date window at 12 o’clock as well as the power reserve indicator opposing it at 6 o’clock. Despite all these functionalities, the dial remains uncrowded do to the subtle contrast between the silver dial and the gilt hands and indexes. The watch is powered by the beautifully decorated automatic M0A10205 with a power reserve of 42 hours.
Hampton Automatic 10155 and 10156
This year, the rectangular Hampton collection is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the release of two new models, crafted from stainless steel. The surface of the 31 mm x 47 mm rectangular case is a blend of satin-finished and polished steel of the subtly tapered profile. True to its signature shape, the new Hamptons keep the usual recessed surfaces at 3 and 9 o’clock revealing the uniquely domes sapphire crystal.
The Hampton 10155 has blued hands and steel numerals on white dial and comes on a black alligator strap, while the Hampton 10156 features gold hands and numerals with brown alligator strap.
They are powered by a carefully decorated ETA2892-A2, offering 42 hours of power reserve.
