Christopher Ward C9 Jumping Hour Mark III

In 2011, Christopher Ward introduced the limited edition C9 Jumping Hour Mark I, using the calibre JJ01, an ETA 2824-2 modified by watchmaker Johannes Jahnke and his team. Soon after followed the Mark II with an improved movement and a design following the aesthetic of the C900 Single Pucher Chronograph.

If the first two models had a diameter of 43 mm, the new Mark III measures 40 mm, making it an attractive choice for those who prefer smaller watches.

Mike France, co-founder of Christopher Ward, explains the emphasis behind the new sizing:

The Jumping Hour, powered by the outstanding calibre JJ01, stands as one of our finest creations. The new 40mm size provides a stunning new option for customers seeking a smaller case size and we see this model appealing to both men and women wanting not only a more compact Dress watch but also a more intriguing one.

We are especially delighted to see how the evolution of the model has delivered three unique expressions while clearly retaining the essence of the crisp design aesthetic of the C9 family.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
