Genereal MacArthur’s JLC Reverso to be auctioned by Antiquorum
On May 10 at the Antiquorum’s auction of “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces ” to be held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Geneva, collectors of vintage watches with a historic twist will have the opportunity to bid on a very special Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso, formerly belonging to General Douglas MacArthur.
General MacArthur’s Jaeger LeCoultre Ref. 201 Early Reverso is a fine and historically important and very rare, rectangular curved, reversible, stainless steel wristwatch, made circa 1935. It is accompanied by the Extract from the Archives and a letter attesting to the provenance.
The back of the watch features an Art Deco engraving with the initials of the General that matches beautifully the overall style of the Reverso.
Collectors will have the opportunity to preview this historically important watch and other fine timepieces included in the sale in Singapore, Hong Kong and Geneva.
The MacArthur Reverso is expected to fetch between 10,000 to 20,000 Swiss Franks.
UPDATE
