OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Limited Edition
While the fans of James Bond are impatiently looking forward to the upcoming Double O Seven adventure, to be released in April 2020, Omega marked the 50th anniversary of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), with a special edition Seamaster Diver 300M. Limited to 7,007 pieces, this 42 mm Seamaster is loaded with design clues that make this model an unmistakable Bond watch.
First of all, the black PVD on black ceramic dial features James Bond’s signature gun barrel spiral, with a 9mm bullet head at the centre. The index at 12 o’clock is inspired by the Bond family coat-of-arms, and just as all the other indexes and the hands, it is made of 18k yellow gold. Spoiler alert! As you would expect from a diver watch, the indexes are filled with Super-LumiNova and when the darkness sets in, the 10 o’clock index reveals a secret 50. What a cool/clever idea! And there is more… The number 7 on the date wheel uses the same font as the 007 logo.
Since it’s a limited edition model, on the side of the case we can find a yellow gold plate engraved with each unique limited edition number. To be honest, I have a hard time qualifying 7,007 an exclusive number, but it just shows how popular Omega and James Bond are today.
Presented on a black rubber strap, OMEGA’s new Bond watch is Master Chronometer certified and housed in a stylish black box with gun barrel patterns and bullet head buttons.
Here in Canada, it will be available middle to end of October at the Vancouver OMEGA Boutique (Fairmont Hotel) and exclusively at OMEGA authorized retailers across Canada. It will retail for $8,100.
