Jaquet Droz Lady 8
The latest creation of Jaquet Droz, the Lady 8, is inspired by the shape of number eight that La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaker is regarding as their lucky number.
I’m not a big fan of watches with diamonds, but Jaquet Droz designers never stop to impress me. The Lady 8’s general architecture remains true to its original design – an uncluttered dial crowned with a round pearl or precious stone.
With the two ceramic versions in of black and white ceramic, the Lady 8 became casual and chic.
The revolving ball is also made of ceramic to respect the signature of the dial. Women will be able to roll it contemplating the beauty of their wrist. To finish the case in a very feminine and luxury way, the top of the 8 is paved with 48 diamonds for 0.53 carats.
Apart the ceramic versions, Jaquet Droz offers a model with 18-carat red gold case, domed white mother-of-pearl dial, revolving white pearl ball, everything is made to think it as a true jewel. The Lady 8 red gold and mother-of-pearl is decorated with 175 diamonds.
While I have the feeling that, with this model the most of the luck will probably come from Asia, as the number eight in China is considered a lucky number, being associated with wealth, the Lady 8 is set to conquer the hearth and adorn the wrist of dames all over the world.
