We reported earlier that Antiquorum, one of the leading auction houses for fine watches, was working on an online watch boutique, as an addition to their traditional auction model.

As of today, https://watchboutique.antiquorum.swiss/ — a dedicated online platform offering affordable modern and vintage timepieces from leading brands for immediate purchase throughout the year — is open for business.

Let us quote the official announcement:

Watch enthusiasts will enjoy an unparalleled retail experience with the added expertise and security that comes with over forty years as the world’s premier watch auctioneers. Regardless of location, clients will be able to buy with confidence knowing that all pieces offered have been examined and described by an Antiquorum expert.

Appealing to buyers and sellers alike, the user-friendly platform offers competitive transaction fees, all-inclusive commission, with no additional buyer’s premium added to fixed price offers.

Sellers will appreciate the easy to use platform that is not subject to minimum price or ‘threshold policy’ as with other major auction houses, presenting a great option for entry level timepieces.

The Antiquorum Watch Boutique will feature a selection of timepieces across all periods from a variety of well-known brands such as Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Heuer, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Omega, Patek Philippe, Rolex etc. with a focus on affordable watches offered at $5,000 or below in addition to a selection of highlights.

Transactions will be done via three possible sales formats:

1. The Private Sale — for watches with an average value of $5,000 or below along with a selection of highlights.

2. The After Auction Sale — following all auctions worldwide, collectors will have the opportunity to make immediate after sale offers at a fixed price for a period of 15 days through the Antiquorum Watch Boutique.

3. The Curated Sale — collectors will also have the chance to purchase timepieces from a curated selection of watches based on a thematic sale, private collection or partnership with brands, or a notable or influential figure.

All of these three sales formats will include a “Make and offer” tab and an “Ask an Expert” section, where the Antiquorum team will post historical and technical details on the watches presented.

There you go, one more hunting ground to keep an eye on, in your quest for the grail.

WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
