Vintage Driver Chrono by Straton Watch Co.
I first saw the Straton watches on the Facebook Microbrand group, when Kyle showed us the early prototypes. For me, it’s really cool to see it now ready to go to the next level, by raising funds on Kickstarter, to make it a reality for the masses.
The story of this new brand started with its founder’s passion for vintage cars. A proud owner of and 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT, Kyle wanted to combine this passion with his love for watches. These chronographs are inspired by the Veglia Borletti tachometer (Rev counter) of the Alfetta GT: the two-digit minute/second markers, also the needle-like wedge of the second hand.
You want choices, well, with Straton you’ll have plenty, it might be even too many for those that have a hard time deciding on something. You got 5 colour variations: Black, Blue, Orange, Grey and White. Then, you have a choice between date or no date dial.
The Seiko Mech-Quartz caliber is packed inside a 44 mm wide and 12 mm thick stainless steel case, with knurled bezel, which ads to the cool factor of this piece.
If you’re among the early birds, you can get a Straton Vintage Driver for CHF 199 ($269 CAD) with shipping planned for December.
